Founded by Kella McCaskill, The Economic Development Center, Inc. (E.D.C.) will combat the deterioration of the Community by assisting residents in developing and growing small businesses. In addition, decent housing affordable to low-income and moderateincome; training and workshops; creating an environment where companies will want to locate within the Community, and community residents will have the resources needed to improve quality of life.

The E.D.C. using a diverse slate of programs will be distinctive in serving the various people of the region, especially the working class and historically under-served and low-income populations. Using a holistic approach to its commitment to the growth and development of the local economy through The E.D.C. will be collaborative, distinguished by partnerships with existing institutions, both public and private.
Kella McCaskill, a realtor in The Tampa Bay area, has provided residential/commercial real estate services for world-class athletes in the National Football League for the past five years. For over the past 23 years, she has enjoyed serving the Greater Tampa Bay area in the mortgage and real estate industry. As a result o seeing the differences in resources in different communities, she felt compelled to become the founder of Community Housing Center, a non-profit established to help families avoid the devastation of homelessness due to foreclosure and predatory lending episodes.
We at The Center for Economic Development would like to partner with you, helping to clean up or rehab homes for the elderly, low income, disabled, and veterans in Hillsborough County at our 2nd Community Clean-Up event. We have had success at our first event and plan to have two more this year
On April 13, 2024, We are offering those services that will assist with lite tree trimming, debris removal and lawn maintenance etc. We are also bringing out Tampa Electric to offer weatherization services for energy efficiency and if the homes or apartments qualify they are offering to anyone FREE DUCTWORK and ceiling installation
Participation of esteemed organizations such as TECO, Tampa Bay Federal credit union, Seniors in Service, Save our seniors, Chroma Elite paint, Florida Blue ( Alliance Marketing )and The Center for Economic Development, Inc. Each will have a dedicated tent at the event, fostering community engagement and promoting a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.

What: TCED Community Education When: Monthly We attend 193 meetings a month with a focus on educating the community.
I would love for you and your staff to attend our events. Every dollar and in-kind donation will help us to take care of the neediest cases of the elderly, disabled, low-income and veterans in Hillsborough County and Cities of Tampa Temple Terrace and Plant City.
We are thrilled to introduce Fix, the friendly and enthusiastic character designed to guide students in understanding the importance of preserving our community. Fix is an integral part of The Center for Economic Development’s education and outreach initiatives, aimed at instilling a sense of pride and responsibility in our neighborhoods.
Fix serves as a constant reminder that our schools, parks, homes, and neighbors collectively shape the unique character of our community. We believe that by working together, we can maintain the beauty and integrity of our surroundings.
